OpenShift CLI morsels: importing images

Usually I build images directly inside OpenShift. Sometimes it is useful to import an existing image into OpenShift’s ImageStream.

ImageStreams is a way of OpenShift to hold references to images. You can create one using:

The latest  tag now points to centos:centos7  image.

Another image can be imported to this stream using a different tag.

Both tags are now visible in the image stream.

Environment

The commands were executed using minishift and the following client/server versions of OpenShift.

Client:
oc v1.5.0-alpha.2+e4b43ee
client kubernetes v1.5.2+43a9be4
Server:
openshift v1.3.1
server kubernetes v1.3.0+52492b4
